The Ministry of Agriculture in partnership with the Ministry of Trade, UNDP and organic stakeholders are developing a national organic policy framework.
Minister for Trade Faiyaz Koya says by next month, a consultant will be engaged to work on the draft national organic policy for Fiji.
Koya is urging all stakeholders to give priority to this policy by participating in the consultations when it takes place.
He says they are also working towards engaging an export capacity specialist.
The specialist will undertake market research and provide advice to companies in establishing pathways and negotiate product placements with international retails chains, for improved market access.
