FijiFirst wins 2018 Fijian General Election

The Fijian Elections Office has concluded the results entry for the 2018 General Election entering data from all the 2173 polling stations.
Supervisor of Elections, Mohammed Saneem gave a breakdown on the number of votes cast.
“The total valid votes that we received is 454, 335, the total number of invalid votes is 4, 197, the total number of votes that were cast in the 2018 General Election is 458, 532.”
FijiFirst led majority of the count and the trend continued when the final results were announced this afternoon.
The party raked in 227,241 out of the 458,532 votes that were cast in the 2018 General Election.
The Social Democratic Liberal Party is on second place with 181, 072 votes while the National Federation Party finished the election on third place securing 33, 515 votes.
Unity Fiji and HOPE which were the newest party on the block raked in 6,896 and 2,811 votes respectively.
The Fiji Labour Party finished last with 2,800.
Meanwhile, FijiFirst leader, Voreqe Bainimarama received a total of 167, 732, which is 36.92 percent of the total votes.
SODELPA Leader, Sitiveni Rabuka follows – receiving 77,040 votes.
Bringing up the third place is FijiFirst candidate Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum receiving a total of 17,271 votes while National Federation Party Leader Professor, Dr Biman Prasad raked in a total of 12,137.
SODELPA candidate Lynda Tabuya is in fifth place and the only female to make it to top five securing 8, 795 votes.
