Peoples Community Network Consultant Father Kevin Barr is deciding whether he will renew his work permit when it expires in December.
At seventy six years old, the social worker is having thoughts about retiring.
Father Barr finally got confirmation from the government to remain in the country on Saturday.
He describes the events of the past two days which nearly got him expelled from the country, as traumatic and tiring.
It basically wont change me and my attitude to fiji to the govt and so on so i’ll have to continue as before
His comments about the features of the new Fiji flag didn’t do him any favours with the government.
It was a touch of reality there but also with a touch of humour so i think some people seem to have misinterpreted it, so I aplogise to those people who misunderstood and misinterpreted what I wa saying.
Father Barr is currently a Consultant to the Peoples Community Network – an NGO that helps people living in squatter settlements.
