The 2013 Agriculture Show will be held in Lautoka from the 3rd to the 7th of September.

With the theme, Agriculture for Fiji’s Health and Wealth, this will be the fourth year the show will be running since its inception.

Agriculture Minister Colonel Inia Seruiratu says the show encourages more people to enter farming.

He says the show also recognizes and awards farmers for their contribution towards feeding Fiji.

“The main objective of this agriculture show is to showcase the inherent importance and potential of the resource-based sector as a major pillar for economic growth for Fiji. It is the platform where the government, through the Ministry of Agriculture can inform the public, especially our school children, women, our youth and stakeholders that Agriculture is a career that they can make a decent living out of.”

The weeklong event also introduces new farming practices or produce suitable for Fiji.
