The Flying Fijians have won the Pacific Nations Cup after a superb 34-21 bonus point win over Tonga at Prince Chichibu Memorial Stadium in Tokyo, Japan this afternoon.
What was at first a tight encounter between the two island teams had Tonga leading 8-0 early in the half before Fijian wingers, Sireli Bobo and Napolioni Nalaga opened the floodgates for the Flying Fijians.
Nalaga scored a double to seal the deal for Fiji while blistering runs from Bobo and Fijian centre, Nemani Nadolo added more five pointers for Inoke Male’s men.
Flying Fijian inside centre, Seremaia Bai continued his 100 percent kicking record to convert all four tries and two penalty goals.
The win handed Fiji the much needed three points to deny Canada the win this year.
