The Flying Fijians went down in fighting fashion against Scotland this afternoon by 37-25.
Nikola Matawalu, Waisea Nayacalevu and Metuisila Talebula got on the score sheet but it was not enough.
Fiji opened the scoring with two penalties off the boots of Jonetani Ralulu but it was the Scots who showed why they were packing so much muscle in their forward pack.
The Scots scored again and soon after were rewarded with a penalty try.
Fiji’s fight-back in the second spell brought the game to a two point game but the Scots went 12 clear with a try and penalty.
Flying Fijians manager Isei Raiwaya said errors were committed but the game showed which pattern the boys should play.
Fiji’s next game is against Tonga next week.
