Savirio cleared to play:Marist

A Marist under 18 rugby player suspected of a spinal injury during training in Flagstaff yesterday has been cleared to play.

Young prop, Varasiko Savirio was back at school and training for the all important U18 quarter-final against Deans champs, Queen Victoria tomorrow.

“We took the necessary steps towards suspected spinal injuries and put him in a neck brace and called the ambulance yesterday. He had the xray and was cleared and is back in school to prepare for his exams as well as tomorrow’s game.”

The Eastern and Southern Zone national quarter-finals will be held at Ratu Cakobau Park tomorrow.

While games begin at 8.30am, the U18 matches kick off at 2.50pm between Nasinu Secondary and Lelean Memorial while the Marist-QVS clash starts at 4.10pm.
