Nadroga Football Association has blamed long hours of travelling for their loss 3-1 against Ba in the first round of the Inkk Mobile Battle of the Giants.
President Dhiren Lal says the team started travelling in the early hours of Saturday and reached late at night.
He says this resulted in his players being tired.
“I take the defeat to the better team Ba, but when I went around to the boys to find out what had gone wrong. The boys said it was because of the 20 hours or more they had spent travelling.”
Nadroga now faces Labasa in their second game on Thursday.
Lal says they know nothing less than a win would suffice in this game.
He says Nadroga will one of those teams relying solely on local players.
“Their ITC did not arrive in time and we had to let them go.
Day two of the BOG starts this Thursday with Suva playing Navua at 2pm.”
Live commentaries of the Nadroga-Labasa, Rewa-Ba and Lautoka-Nadi matches will air on our sister station, Radio Fiji Two with the voice of soccer, Raymond Stoddart.
