Fijian weightlifter and 2011 Sportswoman of the Year, Maria Liku is targeting a top eight finish in the 63kg category at the London Olympics.
She recently changed her usual weight class from 58kg, confident of a good outing when she competes Wedensday.
Team Fiji is also confident the Pacific Games gold medallist will step up to the plate as team-mate, Manueli Tulo finished 13th in the 56kg men’s competition on Sunday.
The only other lifter from the Oceania region competing in the same category as Liku is Australian, Seen Lee.
