A try from Fijian winger, Timoci Matanavou sealed Toulouse’s French Top 14 season opener to beat Castres 23-22 on Friday night.
The 19-time champions were trailing 22-18 with nine minutes left when they snatched victory – a sharp pass from Tongan forward, Edwin Maka saw Matanavou dot down for the side’s only try of the night.
Former All Black, Luke McAlister missed the conversion while Toulouse then had to hang on grimly when lock forward Gregory Lamboly was yellow-carded five minutes from time for another dangerous tackle.
