Finalising venues was tough-Yusuf
Report by: Rohit Deo
Fiji Football Association Chief Executive, Mohammed Yusuf says, a lot of factors were involved before finalizing the venues for the semi-finals and final of the Inkk Mobile Battle of the Giants tournament.
Yusuf says, as much as the association wanted to take the finals to Labasa, they had to think of the logistics.
“Three teams return by boat today. They would have to travel by Thursday again if we had hosted it in Labasa. Also, the crowd turnout during the pool games wasn’t as we had expected. Last year’s tournament we had a full house but it wasn’t the case this time around.”
The first semi-final between Rewa and Labasa will be played at Nausori’s Ratu Cakobau Park at 7.30pm on Friday.
Lautoka takes on Nadi in the second semi-final at 3pm on Saturday at Churchill Park. The final will be played at 2.30pm on Sunday at Lautoka’s Churchill Park.
You can catch the live commentaries of all three matches on Radio Fiji Two with the voice of soccer Raymond Stoddard.
