Lakhan reelected, Tonga to host 2019 PG

FASANOC president Vidhya Lakhan has been elected unopposed as the head of the Pacific Games Council for a third term.

He was first elected to the position in Suva in 2003 and was re-elected again in Samoa in 2007.

Marcus Stephen of Nauru is the new Vice President of the council.

He beat candidates from Tahiti, Tonga, Papua New Guinea and Northern Marianas in his election.

David Boyd of New Caledonia was re-elected as the Secretary General.

Meanwhile, Tonga has won the bid to host the 2019 Pacific Games.
