The Lautoka football players will be using the two-match friendly series against New Zealand club, Team Wellington, to iron out weak areas of their play.
The two teams will be using the two games in the build-up for the OCF Champions League, which will be played next February.
Defender, Jone Vesikula says despite missing a number of players, who are away with the national side for the Mini Pacific Games, it is a chance for the other squad members to prove their worth.
“This is a good opportunity for our boys to step up with the absence of our experienced players who are in Vanuatu for the Mini Games but this didn’t stop us from preparing for Wellington.”
Lautoka take on Wellington at 7.30pm Friday at Lautoka’s Churchill Park and they will then play again at 3pm Sunday at the same venue.
