AFL Fiji is planning to use young players to participate in senior competitions.
The academy is to groom and train local players to be competitive at an elite level.
AFL Fiji Development Officer Simon Highfield says the officials will be monitoring junior levels to help prepare themselves for international competition.
“We will start again next year and have a senior competition and looking at the development for the 2020 World Cup but at the Oceania level under 15, we have Oceania cup every year so we are looking to nurture the under 15 all year every year and hopefully they come through when they continue to get that development path way in the lead up to our senior competition and our national team that would be good to go and represent the tribe in the world cup.”
The Oceania Cup finals will take place this afternoon.
