Nine overseas players apply for release

Fiji Football Association has received nine overseas request from four Premier districts in the transfer window, which closed last evening.

Fans could see three overseas based players each in Ba, Lautoka and Rewa team this season.

Ba’s Amal Singh, Troy Watson and Nathan Brown have received their International Transfer Certificate {ITC} and the free to join the Men In Black.

Lautoka awaits approval for Brian Kaltak while Solomon striker Benjamin Totori and New Zealand based Cory Chettleburgh have been cleared.

Rewa could see the return of stylish Ratu Luke Lomasalato who will be joined by Ronaldo Wilkins and Charlie Benjamin.

Speaking to FBC Sports, Fiji Football Association Chief Executive Mohammed Yusuf says these players are in the country waiting for the green light to play for their respective teams.

“The ITC has come. It’s just the registration part to be completed then they play and you know we only allow three foreigners in every teams. There are few others that is ITC that will be joining other districts later.”

Meanwhile in the only Vodafone Premier League match on Saturday, Labasa plays Dreketi, 1.30pm at Subrail Park and on Sunday Rewa host Nadi, 3pm at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori.
