Batinisavu likely to make his debut at Vancouver 7s

Former athlete and Fiji Airways mens 7s winger Uluiyata Batinisavu could make his debut in the Vancouver tournament this weekend.

Coach Gareth Baber says Batinisavu has been training well and could be slotted into the final squad for the tournament in Canada.

“You know like the others he his training to make his debut here in Vancouver. I’m yet to pick the squad but he is training well. He is a good worker, keeps his head down and gets on the job he needs to. As I said every player in the squad is ready to start.”

Baber names his 13 member squad on Saturday.

Fiji begins its campaign against Spain on Sunday at 6.36am, then faces France at 10.08am and plays Kenya in its final pool match at 1.40pm.

The Cup quarterfinal starts at 7.08am on Monday, semifinal begins at 11.08am and the final is schedule for 2.19pm.
