The Fiji Rugby Union received a total of $200,000 from Fiji Sports Commission to host the World Rugby Pacific Challenge cup which kicks off this afternoon.
FASANOC Chief Executive Peter Mazey says the money were requested by the union specifically to help them run the challenge and to accommodate our team preparing for the competition.
“For hosting they have to bring in referees and everybody like that and assisting with the teams they’re there is a lot of expenses and for the preparation of our own team with even going into training camp.”
Meanwhile, the Fiji Warriors plays Samoa A in its first match at 5pm this afternoon at Suva’s ANZ Stadium.
