Elite teams like Uluinakau Baba’s, Silver water Barbarians and Cross of Victory will not be part of this year’s 42nd Fiji Bitter Marist 7s due to their late submission of fees.
Marist 7s organizer Lawrence Tikaram says, they are very strict with the rules and will go according to their plans.
“We have dropped some very big names from the Fiji Bitter Marist 7s like I’ve said many times before it is most unfortunate and as a committee we feel for the players but we have a show to run and our deadlines must be met our deadlines were the first 64 teams that pay in full on time or before March 9th unfortunately we achieved that way before march 9th and many teams were dropped.”
Tikaram adds more than twenty-teams were dropped due to their late fees submission.
Sixty-four men’s teams and ten oldies team will compete at the tournament which will be held from the 23rd to the 24th of this month at Suva’s ANZ Stadium.
