The Fiji Rugby Union is not having any second thought of being rejected by World Rugby in its final bid submission of hosting a world sevens leg in Fiji.

Fiji for 7s Bid campaign leader Brian Thorburn says Fiji has a century of tradition and success in rugby which stands out for the rest of the eighteen countries who have also submitted their bid.

“On the sevens stage we clearly the dominant country for many years and there is a great level of good will towards Fiji rugby within rugby circle so we have that heritage that distinguishes us”

FRU will now until the end of May have further discussions with World Rugby to do a site visit and inspect the various facilities they’ve put forward.

Meanwhile, FRU has also confirmed they will announce their bid details at the FRU Awards next week.
