Spain Rugby team could get its biggest test of the recent time if they replace Romania to play the Fiji Airways Flying Fijians in the June test series.
Flying Fijians coach John McKee says, Spain has qualified to the final to the Rugby Europe Championship and if they win, they are likely to secure the Europe 1 spot at the World Cup in Japan next year.
“Looking at the international games going on at the moment with Spain could come second in that tournament, which will give them automatic qualification to Rugby World Cup and Romania could actually be the team that he to go into home and away with Samoa. So with the standings in that tournament at the moment it looks like there could be Spain that traveling to Fiji and not Romania.”
Romania currently sits top of its region’s World Cup qualification standings with 29 points, three more than Spain who faces Belgium in the championship final.
Meanwhile, Fiji will take either Spain or Romania first before playing Georgia and then Tonga is its last test match in June at ANZ Stadium in Suva.
