The Fiji Warriors rugby side defeated Junior Japan 28-3 in a bonus point today, that will see them a step closer to winning the World Rugby Pacific Cup Challenge despite having one more match against Tonga A on Saturday.
Warriors fullback Inia Tawalo and hooker Veremalua Vugakoto scored the first two tries in the first half and converted by Serupepeli Vularika.
Loose head prop Luke Tagi scored Fiji’s third try in the second spell and nippy halfback Frank Lomani crossed over the whitewash to touchdown their last try and successfully converted by Vularika.
Fiji Warriors coach Senirusi Seruvakula says his boys followed their game plans and they deserve the win.
“We’ve talked about Japan and how they will come strong at us, but the boys stepped up and maintained their focus and came out with a win.”
Meanwhile, Japan managed to kick a penalty giving them their only point of the match.
Fiji now leads the table having two wins with bonus points.
Fiji will take on Tonga A in their last match on Saturday at 3.30pm.
