Talks in progress for athletes incentives

The idea of giving incentives to athletes that won medals for Fiji at the Commonwealth Games is still up in the air.
The Fiji Sports Commission says it is waiting for the Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee (FASANOC) on a proposal regarding the incentives that are to be given to the athletes.
Commission executive chair, Peter Mazey, says they have not received any feedback from FASANOC on the issue.
“Lorraine Mar and Patrick Bower had the idea of having an incentive for the athletes and they were supposed to write a proposal to the Fiji Sports Commission but we still haven’t received any proposal.”
Meanwhile, Mazey has congratulated Fiji’s effort at the games, but he believes more can be done to improve.
