After five months of waiting, the Fiji Bati players have finally received their 2017 World Cup payment worth of $156, 27.00 from the National Rugby League body late last month.

FNRL Chief Executive, Timoci Naleba says all the players featured in last year’s world cup have received their payments and they have also withdrawn from boycotting future competitions.

Naleba says it is now up to their new coach, who will represent the side in the Pacific June test regardless of their experience.

“I think this is the best time to do that but having said that we will be heavily depending on the wisdom of our head coach and also on the experience that our selectors have to be able to put in a young team but competitive one that should play PNG in June.”

Meanwhile, few Bati players have shown interest for donning the national jumper but this will depend on the selectors as local players are also vying for a spot.

Fiji takes on Papua New Guinea for the Pacific Test on the 23rd of next month in Australia.
