Rabua ready for Oceania Championship
Report by: Lusiana Tagicakibau
Nineteen-year-old national swimmer Epeli Rabua has turned his focus to the Oceania Championship next month after failing to bag any medals at the recent Commonwealth Games in Australia.
Rabua reached the semi-finals at the Commonwealth Games clocking 1.5.9 seconds in the 100 meters breaststroke event.
Young Rabua says he’s training to better his time at the Oceania championship and bring back a medal.
“ I’m confident in my own ability, but then again the Oceania championships will represent its own challenges we going to have totally different teams as well so even though it will be smaller it will still going to be a tough competition"
Meanwhile, eighteen swimmers will be selected to represent Fiji in the Oceania Championship from the 25th to the 29th of June in Papua New Guinea.
