Fiji Airways men’s sevens coach Gareth Baber says he has a fair idea of players that will travel to the USA for the World Cup next month.
The national team returned home today from last leg of the World Rugby Series, having finished second overall behind South Africa.
Baber says he has already mapped out the plans on the makeup of his team but will have players on standby as last minute injury replacements.
“I have a good idea of what the squad will look like, but obviously everybody is still in a position to their hands up for selection. I want keep that going, I want to keep the competition high as long as possible. You do notice changes do happen and it can happen on weekly basis depending how people train. So injuries happen as well so I should keep everybody available and ready should they get selected.”
Baber adds the players will come into camp next week and will leave for a pre-World Cup camp in Utah in USA early next month.
