Belgians living around Suva are excited and are looking forward to watching their team in action in their 2018 FIFA World Cup campaign against Panama next Tuesday.
European Union Natural Resources Team Leader Ingrid Swinnen says they are planning to have a get together to watch the game on early Tuesday morning.
“We’re definitely going to have a get-together. There’s six or seven of us here but it will be early in the morning so it will be quite difficult but we will definitely do it for the love of the country.”
Belgium qualified for Russia 2018 after leading their European qualifying group with 9 wins and 1 draw, accumulating 28 points.
Belgium’s second-greatest achievement in their World Cup history came in 2014 Brazil when they played a quarterfinal match against Argentina.
In their 12 appearances in the World Cup, the team only managed to finish fourth at most, coming in 1986 Mexico.
Belgium will take on Panama in its first pool match at 3am next Tuesday.
