South Africa 7s hard-man Warner Kok says the team will be focused on their defence going into the Cape Town tournament in the weekend.

The Blitzbokke finished sixth in Dubai 7s going down to Fiji 24-19 in the fifth place final.

Kok says they can’t not afford repeat the performance again in-front of their home crowd.

“I think the big work on is definitely is on just the patience, there is a lot of opportunities that we didn’t use we went into the 22 but we didn’t put points on the board. Defence wise we have to get our system better but it looked so much better in the last two but I think we need to first sort out the defence session and we will be ready again.”

South Africa is pooled with New Zealand, Samoa and Zimbabwe.

Meanwhile, The Fiji Airways mens 7s side plays France in its first match at 9.59pm on Saturday, then faces Kenya at 1.20am on Sunday before playing England in its final pool match 5.03am.

The Cup quarter-final begins at 11.04pm on Sunday, semi-final will be held at 3.56am on Monday and the final is secluded for 6.44am.

You can watch the entire tournament live on FBC TV.
