Junior Farzan Ali may have to fight this weekend if the second medical opinion shows he is not injured says the Fiji Boxing Commission.
The Nadi boxer pulled out of this weekend’s fight against Opeti Tagi yesterday after citing injuries to his hands.
Boxing Commission’s Malakai Veisamasama says they will seek a second opinion to verify Farzan’s claims.
He adds Farzan will have to fight if the medical examination finds there are no injuries.
“Should he fail to do so, if the medical opinion given to us differs from his, if he fails to do so, the Boxing Commission of Fiji has a zero tolerance. Actions will be taken after the second medical report has arrived.”
The Boxing Commission says they will come down hard on boxers faking injuries as the sport has now been promulgated.
